What is the salary for a Buncombe County Schools Bus Driver?
Salary Range:  $14.25 - $15.90 Hourly (depending on years of experience)

What are the work hours?
Typically hours are anywhere from 6:00 am to 8:00 am  and 2:30 pm-5:00 pm. Hours and times may vary from school to school depending on the route and other factors that are unique to that school or district. 

What are the Qualifications and Steps needed to obtain a CDL?
Must be 18 years of age
Must have a valid drivers license for at least six (6) months
Good driving record
Must be able to pass the NC school bus driver written and road test Must pass a drug test and background check
Good work references
Have dependable transportation to and from work
Ability and willingness to work with students and adults
Professional and positive work attitude
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job

The DMV requires all bus driver applicants to obtain a Commerical Learner's Permit (CLP) before scheduling behind the wheel training.
