Doris Sellers

Reynolds' Regional Principal of the Year
Doris Sellers, Principal at A.C. Reynolds High School, continues to earn recognition for being an outstanding administrator! Surrounded by teachers, administrators, and family at her school's holiday party, Mrs. Sellers was informed in a surprise announcement that she has been named the 2017 Western Region Principal of the Year! She is one of eight regional winners and will go on now to compete for North Carolina Principal of the Year.

Thank You to Our Everyday Heroes (Video)
At schools across Buncombe County, students wrote thank you letters to the firefighters and emergency workers who spent weeks battling the wildfires in our region this fall. In this video, four students from Black Mountain Elementary share their letters with us explaining how much they appreciate the firefighters' sacrifice.

Progressive Education Program (PEP) students are thrilled by the generosity of LS3P Associates LTD., who presented a $500 donation to their BCS program with the help of Roberson board representative Amy Churchill.

On Saturday, the T. C. Roberson High School Air Force JROTC cadets participated in National Wreaths Across America Day in a wreath laying ceremony at Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

The 4th grade chorus at Hominy Valley Elementary found a creative way to spread holiday cheer: they went to the Asheville airport, put on holiday hats, and entertained travelers with their lovely songs!
