Video: One Student at a Time
Sparks are flying (literally!) in this latest glimpse into our classrooms across Buncombe County Schools. Based on our current Purpose, Direction, and Belief statements for our schools, this exciting piece shows why our students and teachers are proud to live and learn in Buncombe County.

The piece created by our Communications Department represents all six districts of BCS and is narrated by the Erwin District board representative, Mr. Pat Bryant. The video may be viewed above, and has also been shared to Facebook and Twitter.

Burpees for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue
In a Glen Arden Elementary school project, students were given a one dollar bill and told to "change the world." With the help of her friends and Hard Exercise Works, student Aggie Keyser turned that dollar into more than $1,000 which she donated to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, a local animal shelter.

BCS Destination Teams to Compete in Global Finals
BCS students dominated at the state Destination Imagination competition! In all, 5 Buncombe County Schools provided category winning teams, earning their way to the upcoming Global Finals in Knoxville, TN, where they'll compete against students from across the world! Math at the Mall
Math at the Mall has become an annual event for the 7th graders at Valley Springs Middle. This past week, three teams of 80 students spent three days at the Asheville Mall working on mall-themed mathematics challenges.
