Below is important information about our Summer Reading Camp.
Your child's teacher will send home a notification if your child is eligible to attend.
If you have any questions about this program, please contact your child's school.
This camp is free of charge and is an opportunity for your child to receive more support, but it is not mandated or required. As the parent/guardian, you make the decision about whether to send your child to Reading Camp. Reading Camp activities will be engaging and provide technology experiences.
The BCS Bookmobile will visit once a week. Reading Camp will operate from June 26 - July 18.
Reading Camp will be closed Monday and Tuesday, July 3 and 4.
A free breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.
Classes will be held from 8:00 AM to 2 PM Monday – Thursday.
Reading Camp will operate at the following locations:
Erwin District = West Buncombe
Enka District = Sand Hill-Venable
North Buncombe District = Weaverville Elem
Owen District =Black Mountain Primary
Reynolds District = Haw Creek
Roberson District = Glen Arden Elementary
If your child’s home school is the Reading Camp site: ● No transportation is provided ● Drop off between 7:40 and 7:50 ● Pick up at 2:00 PM If your child’s home school is not the Reading Camp site: ● Transportation is provided from the home school to the district site. ● You will be notified of a drop off
and pick up time.
