That's right. You heard us: Award Winning Chickens. Congrats to the North Buncombe Middle FFA students who presented their chickens at the N.C. Mountain State Fair! We have a great photo of these award winners, as well as the complete results for the competition.

Owen District Back to School

As reported by the Black Mountain News: "More than 2,000 students from the Swannanoa Valley began the 2017-18 school year in the Owen District on Aug. 28 and were welcomed by hundreds of administrators, faculty, and staff."

Firing Up Roberson Football
WLOS covers an effort by Avery's Creek Elementary students to fire up their high school's football team through the use of hand-made cards. The Roberson Rams thanked the kids with an encouraging and energetic visit where they marched through the elementary school's hallways prior to Friday's game, giving high-fives, and showing Ram pride!
