Our students had a blast at the Southern Conference Education Days at Harrah's Cherokee Center - Asheville! Students enjoyed a morning of high-energy basketball fun, and found inspiration in talented college athletes, musicians, and performers! Special thanks to the Regional Sports Commission, Harrah's, and the Southern Conference for making these rewarding days possible!

Good evening: All BCS School districts except the Erwin District will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow, Monday, Jan. 22. The ERWIN DISTRICT ONLY will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow and buses won’t travel on icy roads. Again, all other districts, except Erwin, will operate on a normal schedule tomorrow. Thank you! Due to frozen precipitation overnight and hazardous road conditions, all Buncombe County Schools will operate under an asynchronous remote learning day today, Jan. 19, and this will be an optional teacher workday. Students will learn independently. By 10 a.m., teachers will upload assignments into their Learning Management System (LMS). Students may work at their own pace. Assignments must be completed and turned in within 5 school days. We will provide lunch today. Families may come to one of the schools listed below. Adults are welcome to purchase a meal as well. Lunch will be served between Noon-1 p.m. Schools serving meals are: North Buncombe District - North Windy Ridge Intermediate T.C. Roberson District - Estes Elementary A.C. Reynolds District - A.C. Reynolds Middle Owen District - Black Mountain Primary Enka District - Sand Hill-Venable Elementary Erwin District - Emma Elementary and Leicester Elementary Thank you!
