Hurricane Helene Relief & Sponsorship Results:
The AC Reynolds High School PTSA would like to thank all of our donors, volunteers, & school community that stepped up to assist our families at a time of mourning, sorrow & deep need for our community. We watched as people who had never met hugged, cried together & fed each other. The incredible altruistic response of so many of you fueled us to not just provide 3rd Responder assistance, but to transition to relief, interim support & recovery. While recovery will take years, we are so proud of how far we have come. We would not be where we are today without the kindness of strangers, the lifting up of neighbors & the heroic generosity of individuals of time, effort & of course, money. From 10/1 to today, we provided $165,197.83 in support to vetted Rocket families through our direct fundraising efforts, a United Way Grant, & through community partnerships with Regroup WNC, Chances for Children Carolinas & The Martyrs Walk Fund. So much more support was provided in the form of donated cars, heating, gift cards, donated furniture & household items, food, water, medicine & so many other supplies. We will be forever grateful for the hope & help you provided to our community.
Helene Relief Fund: Within days of the storm, we provided checks to families in need with Tiered Relief Funds of $750, $500, $300 and $150 during our weekly disbursements running over 3 months on 76 vetted applications. We delivered tiny homes from BeLoved to several families in need of temporary shelter.
Circles of Support: With the help of our amazing Volunteer Staff we managed over 3 dozen families through our Circles of Support program providing 9 levels of support to families in need.
Reynolds Rebuilding: We assisted in connecting families whose homes were severely damaged with resources, contractors & supplies in partnership with Reynolds Alumni, Phil Gennette, of Asheville Lumber Yard & Gennette Lumber.
Families are still in need of funds to rebuild to cover the gap between home owners insurance & FEMA. If you would like to contribute, please email acrhsptsa@gmail.com. We are also still in need of 3 car donations, if you or someone you know have a vehicle to donate
