I am so thankful and blessed to be the principal of Black Mountain Primary School. Even though I never attended Black Mountain Primary as a child, my family moved to The Valley when I was 10 years old. I attended Black Mountain Middle School and Graduated from Owen High School in 1995. I know what an amazing community Black Mountain is and felt it was very important to raise my two girls in the same community. This is my 25th year of education. During this time I have been an elementary teacher, elementary assistant principal, high school assistant principal, alternative/magnet high school principal, and elementary principal. This is my 17th year as an administrator and 11th year as an elementary school principal. My family, friends, and faith are very important to me. In my spare time you may see me at one of my little girls' sporting events, shopping, reading, or cooking. I love exploring new places and taking vacations with my family and friends. I am very excited to serve the community of Black Mountain and help staff and students make positive memories at BMP! Go Warponies!

Welcome! This is my first year working as assistant principal at both Black Mountain Primary School and Leicester Elementary School. I have previously served as a media coordinator and classroom teacher. I studied Elementary Education at Bowling Green State University in Ohio, Academically/Intellectually Gifted Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Information and Library Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and most recently, School Administration at Western Carolina University. I love connecting with students, staff, and families in Buncombe County Schools, and am eager to explore the cultures of both the Warponies and the Wildcats.

Outside of the schools, I love spending time with my family playing games, visiting festivals, seeing friends, and traveling to places in Western North Carolina and beyond. I look forward to a remarkable year at both schools and cannot wait to serve the growing minds of tomorrow!
