🌻🎨 ArtsInEducationWeek: BCS art classes show students that art isn’t just painting—it’s an entire world of design, expression, and limitless imagination!

At Fairview Elementary School, art teacher Chad Caldwell and his fourth grade students dove into creative masterpieces inspired by the iconic artist Van Gogh and his famous sunflower series. They used these real-world examples to explore fundamental art concepts like color theory, depth, and perspective. They also experimented with wax resist painting, learning how crayons repel watercolors and produce mesmerizing effects.

“Art is everywhere, and that's valuable in the sense that it inspires creativity and hope,” Mr. Caldwell said. “Kids get to create and explore, build their fine motor skills, and they learn that art can help you say something visually that your words can't say. I just love to see that.”
