Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors are a small group of students dedicated to the positive promotion of Nesbitt Discovery Academy. They will work on a volunteer basis to serve as liaisons between the community, prospective students and local business and industry. The Ambassador's main job is to be a helpful, friendly face for the new freshmen students on their first day of school and for the remainder of the school year.
Student Ambassadors will help promote NDA both on and off campus. Ambassador responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Leading campus tours for prospective students and their families as well as middle schools (commitment to at least 5 tours)
Participating in 9th grade orientation to lead break-out sessions (commitment to one training/planning session before school starts as well as the one day 9th grade orientation)
Participating in visits with middle school family nights (commitment to at least one middle school family night)
Participating in prospective student open houses (commitment to at least one open house)
Attending all Ambassador meetings and trainings
Assisting with other events as needed including presenting at local organizations
Mentoring a small group of ninth graders throughout the school year
QUALIFICATIONS:
Student must have 7 or less absences per semester (consideration is given to those who have approved attendance waivers)
Students must have no disciplinary actions
Students must agree to all expectations
Students must re-apply each year.
