We hope that you will join us for the WD Fall Carnival hosted by PTO!
Good evening parents!
Due to a loss of a bus driver for bus 276 this week, we are going to need to update ALL our routes on our buses to include the students on bus 276. Please look for a letter to come home tomorrow with your child indicating your bus #, AM/PM pick up and drop off times, and bus stop location. We will need to establish new community stops on other buses to be able to pick up and drop off students with only 2 buses that are running routes. Thank you for your patience as we continue to look for additional bus drivers.

We are so excited to start the new year! This week will be busy and we will all need a little extra patience with our new car rider line and community bus stops. On Monday and Tuesday, we will allow parents to park in the parking lot and walk students to class. Beginning Wednesday, August 31, parents can walk students to the back door. If you choose to do that, please make sure that you park in a parking spot and use the crosswalk. We want to keep everyone safe during this busy time of the day. Thank you for your help!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
There was a typo on the Kindergarten postcards that went out this weekend. All Kindergarten students are invited to Meet the Teacher this Friday, August 26 (NOT August 19 as stated). We are sorry for the confusion. See you Friday!

Parents-
It is almost time to start our new year together! As we continue planning ahead for the upcoming school year and streamlining our bus routes, we have a few new changes. Please read carefully.
Starting on Monday, August 29th we will need to adjust the stops for a few of our communities until we fulfill the need of hiring bus drivers. First, all students living in the Grovemont community will be picked up/dropped off at the Grovemont Park. The parents will need to meet at the bus stop in place of doing individual home stops. Also, students living on Dillingham Circle, Jones Cove, Shope Creek, and Bull Creek will now have a community stop at Berea Baptist Church in the AM only.
Second, because we will be unable to make home stops at the following addresses, we will have community stops at the intersection of Bee Tree Road and your prospective roads. These streets are Riddle Road, Mountain Crest, Long Branch, Sunset Drive, and Jordan Road (AM only).
We appreciate your flexibility as we are adjusting the needs of our routes so we can continue to use our buses for student transportation. Please call the office at 686-3856 if you have further questions.
We are excited for the 2022-23 school year! Go Warponies!
August 19 - Postcards mailed to students with Homeroom Teacher assignments
August 26 – Meet the Teacher Drop-in Event from 8am to 10am
August 29 – First day of School! (School starts at 7:50am)
See you soon!

Free/Reduced Meal Applications for the new school year are available now! You may apply online >>> https://bit.ly/3QaVJHm
This important program ensures all of our students have access to healthy lunches during the school day without accruing large cafeteria balances. This program is confidential and registration is easy! This year, children who qualify for this program will not be responsible for any of the cost of the lunch.
This year, universal free lunch is no longer available at the majority of our schools as we continue with COVID recovery.
Paper applications will be given out on the first day of school.
Please take a few minutes to fill out a free and reduced meal application today, even if you aren’t sure if you will qualify. If you have questions or need assistance please call 828-255-5927.
Please note that all schools will still serve breakfast to students at no cost next year!
Attention, Parents: If you have already moved or have plans to move this summer and will switch schools, please plan on enrolling your child in their new school as soon as possible! This includes those remaining in Buncombe County Schools and those leaving the area. Our schools have begun sending out important information for the new school year, and if you aren’t enrolled in the correct school, you’ll miss these messages.
Not sure which is or will be your community school? Click buncombeschools.org/findmyschool to connect with your new Buncombe County School.
We look forward to welcoming your child to school!
Scheduling routine health check-ups and routine immunizations took a backseat during the pandemic. Now is the time to get back on track with routine care which includes being up-to-date on the vaccines.
North Carolina's student immunization schedule includes vaccines such as polio and measles, mumps, rubella (MMR). Kindergarten, seventh, and twelfth graders require certain vaccines that can be found here>>> https://immunization.dph.ncdhhs.gov/schools/k-12.htm
Make an appointment with your health care provider to get back on track today. Don’t have a health care provider? Buncombe County Health and Human Services can help. Visit buncombecounty.org/immunize for more information on their walk-in hours and appointment scheduling.
