Parents/Guardians:
At Estes Elementary School when students check out books from the library they are responsible for returning those books within a month. Their classes come to the library every 7-9 school days.
Kindergarten students get to check out 1 book each visit if they return the book from the last visit
1st-4th grade students get to check out 2 books each visit if they return the books from their last visit
If they only return 1 book, I let them check out 1 book
If they have a book for more than a month they are not allowed to check out books until they either return the late book or pay for it
When students lose books they can either:
pay for the cost of the book
replace the book with the same title (if it was a hardback, it needs to be replaced as a hardback)
Books cost anywhere from $3.00 to $30.00. Paperback books are cheaper than hardback books.
We send notes home often or DOJO/email to let parents/guardians know if their child has an overdue book.
Any charges for books or devices DO NOT go away at the end of the school year. The fine(s) will follow the student to their next school.
At the end of the school year if a student owes money to the school they WILL NOT receive a yearbook.
