Volunteers packing backpacks

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Ramble community in Biltmore Forest has demonstrated extraordinary generosity and kindness toward the students and staff of Johnston Elementary School. As the fall semester began, community members came together to ensure that every child started the year with the tools they needed to succeed.

The Ramble community purchased and packed backpacks filled with school supplies for each student, turning an ordinary act into an extraordinary gift of care. Volunteers went further, funding every teacher’s classroom wish list, assembling furniture, and setting up classrooms to create welcoming and functional learning spaces.

Their generosity extended beyond the classroom. Before Hurricane Helene disrupted plans, the Ramble community funded a field trip to the Biltmore Estate for every Johnston Elementary student. Although the trip has been canceled, the Ramble community decided to allocate the funds for future trips and student enrichment programs.

Their kindness is a powerful reminder that when we come together, we rise together – building stronger communities and brighter futures for all.
