The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) has recognized our schools for their academic performance and graduation achievements during the 21-22 school year. Principals were presented with certificates for achieving or exceeding growth on Tuesday.
“Whether for academic growth or graduation rate, these certificates represent an impressive amount of hard work by students and educators,” said Catherine Truitt, State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Twenty-one BCS schools achieved expected growth, and 12 BCS schools exceeded expected growth. The BCS Virtual Academy and Nesbitt Discovery Academy both achieved 100% graduation rates. The district graduation rate is 89.8%.
“I am so proud of our district’s accomplishments,” said Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson. “Our educators are meeting students where they are academically and successfully helping them learn and achieve their goals. Despite the challenges of COVID recovery, our educators are working tirelessly and focusing on student success.”
