The journey across the stage to receive a high school diploma begins with a student's first step into a nuturing, caring kindergarten classroom. Buncombe County Schools will host kindergarten enrollment events soon. If you have a student in your family ready to start school in August, or know of someone who does, please call the school in advance to make an appointment to visit on enrollment day.

Let's get ready for kindergarten! View the North Carolina Dept. of Public instruction's Kindergarten Readiness Resources for Families website, a resource for families and caregivers to use as they initiate the process of transitioning their child to kindergarten. It provides family-friendly guidance on age-appropriate developmental skills, support tips, and at-home activities where adult/child interactions are the central focus.
