T.C. Roberson High School recently celebrated the contributions of one of its most dedicated alumni, Ms.Qundra Suber, by naming its preschool playground in her honor.
After flourishing in the school’s early childhood program as a student teacher, Ms. Suber was invited back to work in the preschool, where she’s been teaching for the last 25 years. Throughout her tenure, she has taught a vast majority of the teachers’ children, as well as many other students who have gone on to attend T.C. Roberson themselves. Her dedication and passion for nurturing young minds has made a lasting impact on countless students over the years. In recognition of her unwavering commitment, the preschool playground has been officially named “Ms. Qundra Suber’s Playspace.”
The playground itself embodies the essence of childhood, offering a vibrant and engaging environment where children can play, explore, and learn. The dedication serves as a testament to Ms. Suber’s legacy of fostering a love for learning and development in young children.
The celebratory event featured remarks from Superintendent Dr. Rob Jackson, who spoke about Ms. Suber’s invaluable contributions to the school community. Additionally, the Buncombe Partnership for Children presented Ms. Suber with an Early Educator Spotlight Award. Words of appreciation were also shared by Preschool Director Betsie Stockslager, along with various friends, family, and colleagues. The event was attended by both past and current students, highlighting the far-reaching impact Ms. Suber has had on the T.C. Roberson Community.
“[Students] learn to share, to wash their hands, and to work hard, but most of all, students in Ms. Qundra's preschool class learn how special they are, and they never doubt the love she has for them,” shared T.C. Roberson Principal Nathan Allison.
Current preschool parent and Assistant Principal Becca Calloway shared how Ms. Suber has impacted her child.
“Ms. Qundra truly gives everything she has to the kids,” she said. “She is also able to reinforce expectations and show them love throughout the day and throughout different challenges that they face.”
Ms. Suber continues to teach and leaves an everlasting impact on the beloved Baby Rams.
