Enka Intermediate recently celebrated a momentous occasion with the grand opening of the Sky Lounge, a newly upgraded teacher’s lounge that is as innovative as the educators it serves. Hosted with the flair only the Jets can bring, the ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the debut of a space that redefines self-care for teachers.
Thanks to the generous support of United Way, the Sky Lounge is a sanctuary designed to help teachers relax and rejuvenate throughout their busy days. The room embodies self-care at every turn, from an inviting massage chair that melts away stress, to yoga mats that encourage mindfulness and movement. Healthy snacks line the shelves for a quick boost of energy, and soft lighting creates a calming atmosphere to escape the daily hustle.
“This lounge is more than a room; it’s a special space,” said principal Emily Cox. “Our teachers give their all to our students every day, and now they have a place to recharge so they can continue to shine for the Jets community.”
The Sky Lounge is more than a gift—it’s a tribute to the commitment United Way and Enka Intermediate have to the wellbeing of educators. Teachers were invited to explore their new space, test out the amenities, and experience firsthand how this dedicated area will enhance their day-to-day lives.
Here’s to taking off in the Sky Lounge—where teachers recharge so they can continue to soar!
