Students in Buncombe County Schools have many exciting opportunities to lead their own learning and have a voice in their schools.
BCS Student Advisory Council is an organization consisting of high school students from the six BCS districts. Its primary goal is to learn about different program areas within the school system and provide much needed feedback as student leaders learn from each other's collaboration and with county office personnel. It is also a platform for students to voice concerns from their district and advocate so that those concerns can be addressed by district leadership. This group meets three times a year and discussions are fun and informative.
In these pictures the Student Advisory Council discusses school safety, curriculum, diversity, and mental health needs.
